Joao Moreira to return to Hong Kong

Star jockey Joao Moreira will return to Hong Kong as stable rider for champion trainer John Size.

The three-time champion jockey in Hong Kong surprised officials and fans at the end of last season when he told them he was moving to Japan.

He has ridden many winners in his past few months there but failed his first written test on the history of Japanese racing, a requirement for a JRA licence.

Moreira is riding at Sha Tin on Sunday, with his six-month contract with Size to begin on December 9 after approval from the Licensing Committee on Saturday.
