Angland serious but stable after surgery

Tuesday 27 November 2018, 6:20pm

Tye Angland remains in a serious but stable condition after unspecified surgery following a Hong Kong race fall.

Angland was injured when his mount Go Beauty Go knuckled after the start at Sha Tin on Sunday night.

The Hong Jockey Club (HKJC) reported Angland was conscious and responding to medical attention before he was taken to hospital.

Family friend Adam Campton, who works for the HKJC, confirmed via social media that Angland had surgery on Monday night.

Erin Angland flew to Hong Kong on Monday to be with her husband.

Angland, a multiple Group One-winning jockey who spent four years in Hong Kong, was riding on Sunday to help fill a jockey shortage caused by suspensions and injuries.
