Red Tracer preparing for Tatt's Tiara

Monday 3 June 2013, 5:24pm

Sydney's premier trainer Chris Waller will have runners in all three Group One races in Brisbane on Saturday but will delay a decision on whether Red Tracer defends the Dane Ripper Stakes.

The winner of the 1400m Group Two race at Eagle Farm a year ago, Red Tracer is also entered for the Listed June Stakes (1200m) at Randwick ahead of another tilt at the Group One Tatt's Tiara at Eagle Farm two weeks later.

Red Tracer has been placed three times at Group One level including two seconds behind Appearance during the autumn carnival, and finished fourth in the 2012 Tatt's Tiara (1400m).

Her unlucky unplaced run in the Doncaster Mile was her first defeat on a heavy track from six starts and the weather will be a factor in where she races on Saturday.

Red Tracer was well backed in the Doncaster because of the heavy track but was trapped wide throughout and hampered by Appearance in the final stages.

She had a couple of weeks off and won a barrier trial last Friday to indicate she still had plenty left in her campaign.

"She has freshened up nicely and we'll make a decision on Wednesday whether she goes north or stays in Sydney," Waller said.

"If she goes to Brisbane Nash Rawiller will ride her."

Red Tracer has been given 60kg for the June Stakes, half a kilogram less than Neeson and Rarefied.

Rain is predicted in Brisbane in the lead-up to Saturday while fine weather is forecast in Sydney.

Waller will have Arinosa running in the Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) at Eagle Farm, Hawkspur in the Queensland Derby (2400m) and a possible two runners in the J J Atkins (1600m).

He will also decide later this week whether both Zoustar and Vilanova will run in the J J Atkins, the final juvenile Group One race of the season.

Riva De Lago, who is also entered for the June Stakes, is on the borderline to make the field for the Stradbroke which is finalised on Wednesday.

Waller is the leading Group One trainer in Australia this season with seven.
