In one of the most hectic schedules of any Australian two-year-old this season, Gracious Prospect has raced 10 times on nine different racetracks in four states.
So far his travels have yet to deliver a win but a return to where his career began in November is tipped to get a result on Saturday.
Gracious Prospect is pre-post favourite to break through for trainer David Hayes in the Murray Cox Handicap at Flemington.
He kicked off his career in the Maribyrnong Plate at Flemington last November and has since raced along the eastern seaboard in NSW, Queensland and Victoria as well as Tasmania.
He's placed five times, including twice at Listed level, and came closest to a victory in his most recent start at Caulfield when chased down by Victoria Derby hopeful Polanski.
"He's been up forever but he's holding his form as well now as he has at any time in his racing campaign," said apprentice Chad Schofield, who rides Gracious Prospect on Saturday.
"He hasn't gone downhill by any means, so hopefully he can break through."
Gracious Prospect is the first of a full book of 10 rides for Schofield.
The meeting will be the last time Schofield will ride with an allowance after posting his 80th city win at Moonee Valley on Wednesday.
While Gracious Prospect is the $3.50 favourite in his event, Schofield rates first-up winner Pago Rock as his best ride on the program in the All Victorian Sprint Series Heat 6 (1200m).
Schofield partnered Pago Rock to victory at Caulfield four weeks ago, the gelding's fifth first-up win from six attempts.
