Group One-winning colt Written By and boom sprinter Nature Strip are among the expected entries for the Listed W J Adams Stakes at Caulfield.
Both the Grahame Begg-trained Written By and Darren Weir-trained Nature Strip are scheduled to resume in Saturday's 1000m-race on their way to Group One sprints later in the autumn.
Written By will be out to remain unbeaten at Caulfield, having been successful in all four starts at the track including the Group One Blue Diamond (1200m) in February last year.
The colt won twice at the track during his three-start spring campaign including the Group Three Blue Sapphire Stakes and he signalled he was on target for his return with a pleasing jump-out at Caulfield last Tuesday.
Written By and stakes-winning sprinter Bons Away, who is also scheduled to resume in the Adams Stakes, cleared out from the rest of the field in the jump-out.
It was the first time this preparation jockey Jordan Childs had been aboard Written By and he was suitably impressed with the colt he has ridden in all eight of his starts for six wins.
"I thought he was super," Childs said.
"It was the first time I had seen him since he has been back this time in and he looked a treat.
"I was very happy with his jump-out. He absolutely flew out of the gates, led them up and felt really good in his action.
"He's only had the one jump-out but he only has to go 1000 metres first-up.
"He'll probably take improvement from the run but on his trial he feels to me like he's going as good as he can be going."
Begg is aiming Written By at the Group One Oakleigh Plate (1100m), three weeks after the W J Adams.
