Promising sprinting filly Crack The Code has continued on her winning way this preparation, registering her first stakes race victory at Caulfield.
The Mick Price-trained three-year-old made it three wins from as many starts this campaign, sitting in the box seat in Saturday's Group Three Kevin Hayes Stakes (1200m) before sprinting past leader News Girl in the straight.
Crack The Code, the $2.25 favourite, defeated News Girl ($8.50) by three-quarters of a length.
The Chris Waller-trained Aperitif ($6.50) closed on the outside to finish another long neck away third.
"She's a good filly, isn't she," Price said.
"I don't know what's around for her but I don't need to go past 1200 metres with her.
"I'll just keep her fresh and we take her to the beach regularly enough."
Jockey Damien Oliver said Crack The Code was a "dream to ride" because she made a lot of her own luck by putting herself in a good position and possessed good acceleration.
"I just wanted the gap to come at the right time and it came," Oliver said.
"She put the rest to bed pretty quickly."
