Mishani Hustler hot on feature race trail

Saturday 9 February 2019, 4:04pm

Former top juvenile Mishani Hustler is on course to win his first three-year-old feature race after scoring a decisive victory at Doomben.

Trainer Ben Currie accepted with Mishani Hustler in both divisions of the three-year-old races which were run over 1050m and 1350m.

"In the end it was a no brainer because he drew barrier one in the 1050m and off the track in the 1350m race," Currie said.

"I am still keen to try him at 1350m or even 1400m. I wanted to get him back in winning from and this race looked ideal.

Mishani Hustler ($2.50) scored by a short neck to Snicki Minaj ($21) with 1-1/4 lengths to Archer's Paradox ($8) in third.

Curie is aiming Mishani Hustler at the $250,000 Aquis Three-Year-Old at the Gold Coast on March 16.

"It is good prize money and after that we can look at the winter," he added.

Mishani Hustler showed he was one of the best two-year-olds in Queensland last winter winning the Listed Dalrello Stakes and finishing second in the Group Two Champagne Handicap.

"Sometimes the better two-year-olds don't come back the next season but he seems to have," Currie said.
