Horses sent to Asia from Toowoomba

Sunday 24 February 2019, 1:21pm

Queensland's Grandview Stud has completed its first shipment of horses from Toowoomba Airport to Asia.

Grandwiew has sent 21 horses to Korea with Equine International Air Freight after they spent three weeks in quarantine at the complex.

Grandview is a registered quarantine facility approved by the Australian government and provides quarantine for yearlings bought by Asian clients who will race them in Asia.

It also provides quarantine for older horses who will race in Asia or New Caledonia.

The opportunity is now available to send horses from Toowoomba and opens south east Queensland as a gateway to transport horses out of quarantine.

It also saves having to move them to Melbourne and Sydney to board an international flight.
