Injured Dittman out for four weeks

Wednesday 27 February 2019, 11:35am

In-form Luke Dittman has joined a growing list of injured jockeys and is likely to be out of action for a month.

Dittman rode a treble at the Gold Coast on Saturday to bring up 30 winners for the season.

He has the second best strike rate of any jockey in the state at just under 25 per cent.

Dittman said he would need an injection in his back for a crushed disc which was the result of wear and tear.

"I hope to he back riding by March 25 and get straight back into it. Things have been going well and I have been getting some good rides from big stables," he said.

"Like all jockeys I have had a few falls over the years but really the doctors say it just wear and tear."

Dittman joins at least six jockeys on the injured list including top riders Damian Browne, Jim Byrne and Nozi Tomizawa.
