Jamie Mott has steered the consistent Under The Eiffel to a dominant win in the $100,000 Swan Hill Cup.
After settling midfield and coming wide on the turn, the Tony Vasil-trained five-year-old strode clear for a 2-1/2 lengths win over Oregon Spirit with Eraset another half length third.
Vasil couldn't manage to win Friday's Elvstroem Classic, named after his international Group One winner, but claimed a double on Saturday, a day before the Cup (1600m) which was the feature event at the three-day carnival.
"I was happy to lead or if there was good speed I was going to take a sit and I probably got back a little further than I thought but once I got into the clear it was never in doubt," Mott said.
"I think that's my fifth win on him now so he's got a special spot in my heart, that's for sure."
Part-owner Rod Lyons said it was a thrill to be on hand for the win, especially as Under The Eiffel has been in work for almost 12 months.
"He has been in work since this time last year and he's one of those horses that loves being in the stable environment," Lyons said.
"He was like the old Under The Eiffel today because he really showed what we thought he was like as a three-year-old."
Under The Eiffel has won nine and been placed in another eight of his 34 starts for prize money in excess of $580,000.
