Suspension has cost Blake Shinn opportunities during the Brisbane carnival but a sparkling gallop by Skyerush has him excited ahead of the final Group One race of the season.
Shinn, who returns to the track on Saturday having not ridden in races since May 25, partnered the Guy Walter-trained mare in a workout at Randwick on Monday.
Second in the Tatt's Tiara (1400m) last year, Skyerush once again has the June 22 race as a target.
She could be joined by stablemate Streama who earned the right to forestall a spell with her third in Saturday's Stradbroke Handicap at Eagle Farm.
But Shinn is only thinking about Skyerush who won three times at Group level during the Sydney autumn.
"She is in fantastic shape and couldn't be going any better," Shinn said.
"She likes wet tracks which she could get in Brisbane and if ever a horse deserved a Group One win it's her."
Walter said a decision on whether dual Group One winner Streama runs in the Tatt's Tiara would be made over the next couple of days.
"We have to consider whether she might not be sharp enough for another 1400 metre race," he said.
"We thought we would have one go at the end of her campaign in the Stradbroke but she has pulled up extremely well so we have to think about giving her another try.
"Skyerush definitely runs.
"I was happy with the gallop and with her.
"She is a tough little mare and she has never had an unsound day in all the time I've had her."
Walter had another reason to be happy at Randwick on Monday when Knead The Dough won an 1800m race for three-year-olds.
The filly held off Empress Elect by two lengths with New Zealander Airtime the first of their male counterparts home, another 1-1/4 lengths away.
""We had her entered for the Queensland Oaks but she didn't quite get there," Walter said.
"We'll have a look at what else is around for her in the winter but the benchmark system doesn't favour the staying three-year-olds."
