Lankan Star passed fit for Slipper start

Thursday 21 March 2019, 3:49pm

Blue Diamond Stakes runner-up Lankan Star has been cleared to start in the $3.5 million Golden Slipper.

The Lindsay Park-trained filly finished 10th in Saturday's Magic Night Stakes at Rosehill on a heavy track and on Monday Racing NSW veterinarians found her to be slightly restricted in her action in front.

Connections of Lankan Star accepted with the filly on Tuesday for Saturday's Group One Golden Slipper (1200m) and on Thursday she was re-examined and passed fit to start.

Lankan Star, to be ridden by Damien Oliver, has barrier three in the capacity field and was rated a $51 chance on Thursday.
