El Dorado Dreaming out of Doncaster

Friday 5 April 2019, 12:29pm

El Dorado Dreaming has been scratched from the Doncaster Mile with a respiratory infection giving first emergency Violate a start in the $3 million race at Randwick.

Trainer Kris Lees has been monitoring the 2018 Sires' Produce Stakes winner this week but veterinary advice is El Dorado Dreaming will not run on Saturday and will also be withdrawn from the Australian Oaks a week later.

Stablemate Graff has been withdrawn from the Arrowfield Sprint on April 13 in what has been a bad week for the Newcastle trainer.

Lees was forced to withdraw the filly Frankely Awesome from Saturday's Australian Derby when she needed to be treated for a cough but the trainer expects her to be able to contest the Oaks.

Brave Smash was unplaced in last Saturday's Al Quoz Sprint in Dubai and has run his last race and will stand the upcoming season at Aquis in the Hunter Valley.
