Waller heads Brisbane Group One entries

Champion Sydney trainer Chris Waller leads the numbers for the nominations in the Group One races in the Brisbane winter carnival.

The entries for the seven Group One races held by the Brisbane Racing Club closed on Tuesday morning.

There were 29 nominations for the Doomben 10,000 on May 12 with Waller having favourite Nature Strip and Zousain while Godolphin's James Cummings had six entered.

The Doomben Cup on May 18 attracted 42 entries with Waller having eight including favourite Youngstar.

The Kingsford Smith Cup the following week has 67 nominations.

Waller has 13 of the 106 Queensland Oaks nominations for June 1 while he has eight of the 145 Queensland Derby entries on June 8.

He also has 12 two-year-olds entered for the J J Atkins Stakes which had 163 nominations.

The $1.5 million Stradbroke Handicap attracted 144 entries.

The Atkins and Stradbroke are also on June 8.
