Star of Giselle proved on Wednesday she had finally shaken off the back problems which almost led to her retirement.
The five-year-old scored her second straight win at Caulfield, striding to victory in the Listed Race-Tech Classic (1600m).
She has now notched six race wins and there is room for more, according to Mathew Ellerton who trains Star of Giselle in partnership with Simon Zahra.
"She's going super. I think she got a bit tired on the line there but I'm very, very happy with her and she's still got improvement in her," Ellerton said.
While the mare was pushed harder on Wednesday than during her last win three weeks ago over 1400m, Ellerton was delighted with the continued good signs.
"She had a soft run in front last time but she had a little bit of pressure today," he said.
"We've had problems with her throughout her career but this prep we've not have a problem."
Star of Giselle, sent out $2.70 favourite, won by half a length from Oasis Bloom ($3.90) with Mabsam ($61) third.
Jockey Craig Williams said the mare had more to show but was unsure of her potential over an extended trip.
"She's an on-pace horse," Williams said. "She was determined, she was gutsy and I loved her style.
"I know she's a very dominant miler but beyond that I'll have to leave it up to Matthew.
"She's going well, she races really well here and I think you'll see a little bit of improvement there as well," he said.
