G1 Tatt's Tiara on the agenda for Multaja

Saturday 1 June 2019, 3:31pm

The Tatt's Tiara remains on the table for exciting filly Multaja after her barnstorming victory in the Listed Helen Coughlan Stakes at Doomben.

Multaja ($4) gave Blake Shinn four winners for the day when she burst through a gap at the 100 metres to defeat Madam Rouge, the $4 favourite, by 1-3/4 lengths with Smartypy ($101) a length away third.

Nacim Dilmi, stable spokesman for trainer James Cummings, said the Group One Tatt's Tiara (1400m) at Eagle Farm on June 22 will be considered for Multaja.

"It's on the agenda. It all depends on what the team wants to do with her next," Dilmi said.

"Obviously she's had a big prep but I don't see why not. She's done everything right so far."

Shinn was confident Multaja would overwhelm her rivals when Moonlover set a fast tempo.

"They went quick today and when you can give her that opportunity to utilise her sprint like we did today she's pretty dynamic," Shinn said.

"She had formlines around Irithea who ran fourth in the Group One last week behind The Bostonian and that gave me a lot of confidence.

"We needed a little bit of luck from the 300m onwards and we got it and she proved she was the best horse on the day."

Since basing himself in Queensland since late April, Shinn has been in sparkling form riding 19 metropolitan winners.

"I've been very lucky the way things have panned out. It's unbelievable to ride four winners on such a competitive day," he said.

Corey Brown praised the effort of Madam Rouge to finish second after being forced to race three wide without cover.
