Chouxting The Mob will have his cheer squad from Perth in attendance at Flemington when he attempts a winning hat-trick.

A large contingent in the ownership of the Simon Morrish-trained horse will travel from Perth to watch him run in Saturday's TAB/ATA Celebrates Women Trainers Handicap.

Morrish has slight reservations ahead of the race with the gelding lining-up for the 11th start of his campaign, after victories at Sandown and Cranbourne.

Chouxting The Mob spent two years away from the racetrack after an injury which means he races with screws in a hind leg.

"Touch wood it's never been an issue," Morrish said.

"If there was to be a problem I'm sure it would have come up by now.

"He goes to the races in good form and deserves a crack at a race like this, but I'm very mindful this is run 11 this prep so we've got to be getting close to the end.

"But he seems in good order so it's worth having a throw at the stumps."

Morrish considered running the five-year-old in the Andrew Ramsden at Flemington on May 25 which offered the winner a start in the Melbourne Cup.

But the trainer decided the weight-for-age conditions were unsuitable and elected to start him a day earlier at Cranbourne where he collected a $27,500 cheque.

The presence of Boom Time and Home By Midnight in Saturday's 2500m-handicap has forced the weights to be compressed which means Chouxting The Mob, a 73-rated horse, has the same weight as 90-rater Rock On.

Compounding the issue is some of the higher-rated horses on the same weight as Chouxting The Mob will be ridden by claiming apprentices.

Beau Mertens will be aboard Chouxting The Mob who hs been ridden by Damien Oliver to his past two wins..

But track conditions will not pose a problem with Chouxting The Mob adaptable in any conditions.

"Some juice in it would help," Morrish said.

"It was a good track last time but he is probably better with a bit of give, but we all know how well Flemington drains, so it shouldn't matter."
