Breeding buffs were among the few who weren't surprised when outsider Star Of Michelin scored an upset win at Eagle Farm on Wednesday.

Star of Michelin ($41) out-slogged Mosski ($4.40) in a close finish to the Two-Year-Old Handicap (1400m).

The gelding is by Jet Spur out of the well bred mare Conca Bella who has one of the most famous pedigrees in Queensland racing.

Conca Bella is by champion sire Show A Heart out of Wabble making her a full sister to the Group One Oakleigh Plate winner Woorim.

Star Of Michelin is bred and raced by Ross Cutts who also owned Woorim, Show A Heart, and Conca Bella.

Winning trainer Stuart Kendrick believes Star Of Michelin has the ability to live up to his breeding.

"It has been a great family for decades for Ross and it keeps coming up with good horses," Kendrick said.

"At his only other start Star Of Michelin got run off his legs over 1000 metres at Doomben. He is a big gangly type who throws back to the typical Show A Heart descendants.

"He was much better suited at 1400 metres on the big Eagle Farm track."

The win continued the good recent run for Kendrick as it was his ninth winner for the month.

Chris Munce brought up his 200th career winner since he started training in 2015 when Ceol Na Mara ($1.85) won the Class Two Plate (1400m).

"I was going to run her in the Sunshine Coast Guineas but I thought she would be better placed in this race," Munce said.

"She wasn't disgraced in the Queensland Guineas at her last start so it was a big drop in class."

Ceol Na Mara was bought as part of a deceased estate by one of Queensland's biggest owners, Bill Andrews, who has high hopes for the filly.

Soon to be retired jockey Jeff Lloyd also reached a milestone with his 100th Queensland winner for the season on Withering ($6).

Lloyd, who retires on July 13, has his third metropolitan premiership tied up with 76 winners.
