Iron horse Tisani Magic will continue to race on despite winning the $125,000 Provincial Sprinters Final at his 15th start for his campaign on Saturday.
Jockey Luke Tarrant made it three wins for the day when he gave Tisani Magic ($8) the run of the race before he scored by a neck to Removal ($4.60) with a nose to Tardis ($3.40) in the race which was a culmination of series of heat races run at provincial tracks.
Tisani Magic was well beaten at his previous start at Ipswich but trainer Kevin Kemp said there were plenty of reasons for the defeat.
"He led and was taken on which is just the way the race panned out but he wasn't suited," Kemp said.
"Tisani Magic needs to be cuddled behind the race and then he can finish hard. That was the way it worked out for Luke today."
Kemp said he would look for more city races for Tisani Magic.
"Have a look at his record - he has had 17 starts and 15 of them have been this campaign. He doesn't like being in a paddock and would rather be in the stable, so he might as well continue on."
Kemp has had a lot of success with the progeny of Tisani Magic's dam Clear Run, including Tisani Boy and Tisani Tomso who are both multiple winners.
Tarrant, who is facing a month's suspension on a betting charge, won earlier on Red Colour and Tarzan.
He is appealing the suspension and is determined to beat the charge.
