Andrew Mallyon will attempt to get a reduction in a 10-meeting suspension for careless riding, having lodged an appeal against the severity of the penalty.
Racing Victoria stewards issued the 10-meeting ban to Mallyon for shifting out at the 300m mark on eventual runner-up Sweet Jazz in the fourth race on Saturday at Caulfield, which resulted in Graceful Storm being tightened between runners and having to be checked.
Mallyon's appeal before the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board is scheduled for Tuesday morning.
As things stand, Mallyon's suspension is due to start after Wednesday's Sandown meeting and would rule him out of three metropolitan meetings and seven provincial meetings.
