Enable headlines Eclipse Stakes entries

Tuesday 2 July 2019, 11:29am

Enable will make her eagerly-awaited return to action in the Coral Eclipse Stakes at Sandown.

Trainer John Gosden has not rushed the dual Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner into action this term, with all her major targets in the second half of the season.

A third win in the Arc is the primary objective and Frankie Dettori, who has been on board as her work has stepped up on the Newmarket gallops recently, is happy with her progress.

"She's well. I'm very pleased with her," he told Sky Sports Racing.

"I've been riding her for the last month and she's really come on, she's ready for the run."

The mare, who also won the Breeders' Cup Turf at Churchill Downs last year, is the headline entry among the 13 for Saturday's Group One race.

The Aidan O'Brien-trained Circus Maximus, successful in the St James's Palace Stakes at royal Ascot and Addeybb, the William Haggas-trained winner of the Wolferton Stakes also feature among nominations.

O'Brien has also left in Magical, who was second to Crystal Ocean in the Prince of Wales's Stakes, Magic Wand, Flag Of Honour and Hunting Horn.

Sir Michael Stoute has two potential runners, the progressive Regal Reality and Mustashry, who could step back up in distance having won the Lockinge earlier in the season.

Hughie Morrison has left in Telecaster after his disappointment in the Derby, with Danceteria, Zabeel Prince and Knight To Behold complete the list.

Telecaster's participation has still to be confirmed with a decision expected midweek.

"We've stayed in so far and we'll take a view later in the week," owner Mark Weinfeld said.

"There's 13 left in. We'd originally thought the Eclipse might come too soon and there's Enable to think of, but you should never run away from one.

"There's always a chance Enable might not turn up yet and if we were second to Enable, it wouldn't be the end of the world."
