After almost two weeks in hospital, Victorian apprentice jockey Tahlia Hope has returned home.

Hope contracted viral meningitis and was initially in ICU at Frankston Hospital on July 11 before being moved to another ward the following day.

The Victorian Jockeys Association said on Tuesday, the apprentice had returned home but continues treatment.

"Good news is that Tahlia Hope has been released from hospital and returned home," the VJA said.

"She remains on treatment three times a day. Final assessment bloods in five weeks."

The 20-year-old has ridden 24 winners this season including a winning double at Morphettville earlier this month.
