Forster pair in last hurrah for QTIS bonus

Smart three-year-old Red Chase will be given a final chance to chase a QTIS bonus when he backs up from last week at Eagle Farm.

Red Chase was second at Eagle Farm last Saturday and trainer Desleigh Forster believes he can go one better in a similar race this week.

The QTIS bonus scheme, which is basically for two and three-year-olds, has proved a great success over the past two decades.

The Brisbane Bullets Alley-Oop Club Handicap (1840m) is one of two QTIS bonus races on Saturday to give three-year-olds a final shot at the scheme.

Red Chase will pocket $42,700 first prize and a $24,500 bonus if he can win the race.

Trainer Desleigh Forster echoed the thoughts of all trainers when she said QTIS had been a boon for Queensland racing.

"Red Chase can have one more go at it (QTIS) on Saturday. He probably got left in front a bit soon last week so it was a good run," she said.

Forster will also chase QTIS money in the Astrojump Infltables Handicap (1200m) with in-form Desert Digby.

A last-start Doomben third, Desert Digby has drawn barrier 16 but will come in several stalls after scratchings.

"Desert Digby has been racing well but he can go for a spell after that," Forster said.

Jim Byrne will ride both Red Chase and Desert Digby
