In-form gelding Silvera will be kept to Listed and Group Three races if he earns a Sydney spring carnival trip with a win at Doomben.

Formerly trained by Tony McEvoy, Silvera has been in fine touch since heading north to Tony Gollan at Eagle Farm in May.

Silvera has won the Rockhampton Cup and Listed Tattersall's Members Cup at his past two runs for Gollan.

He will be aiming to make it three wins in a row.

Silvera's win in the Members Cup was another Stakes success for one of Gollan's biggest clients Peachester Lodge, which is run by Linda and Graham Huddy.

Gollan said the Huddys were keen to run Silvera in Sydney this spring provided he showed he was ready for another trip.

"The Huddys have had a lot of success in Sydney and they are keen to head down there with him," Gollan said.

"We won't be aiming too high and will stick to the Listed and Group Three races.

"I am keen to get him out in distance and a race like the (Group Three) Premier's Cup at 1900m might suit later this month.

"Don't forget he has won at 2000m and even ran in a Victorian Derby as a younger horse."

Gollan said he was aware Silvera might sneak into a major race such as the Group One Epsom Handicap at Randwick on October 5 with a light weight.

"But he would need to get his rating up to even make the field and I really think he is better in the lesser races," Gollan said.

"One thing he handles wet and dry tracks and it can be wet in Sydney in the spring."

The other option for Silvera is a spell and then return in time for the summer feature races.

"In Brisbane you have the Brisbane Handicap and Bernborough Handicap at 1600m and of course there is the Villiers in Sydney," Gollan said.

"I am really happy with him at the moment and it looks like Sydney for him but if that changes all won't be lost and we have summer."

The handicapper has started to catch up with Silvera who goes from 54kg in the Members Cup to 59kg on Saturday.

"I have booked Baylee Nothdurft so he will get 2kg off for Baylee's claim. We knew he would get 59 in this field so it is no shock," Gollan said.

Last season's leading metropolitan apprentice Nothdurft is on a three-month loan to Gollan and hopes to cement his place among Brisbane's top jockeys.
