The Anderson-Heathcote training partnership is hoping an Eagle Farm open handicap will be a launching pad for some high-profile staying race wins.

The partnership has three runners - Ingeegoodbe, Kubis and Zafonic Dancer - in the Ascot Plaza Handicap (1400m) on Saturday.

The trio are all considered more than handy middle-distance horses but have all shown ability in shorter races when fresh.

Kubis is having his first run since finishing second to The Lord Mayor in the Toowoomba Cup (2200m) in early April.

He has run second four times when first-up and has won at distances as short as 1200m.

Ingeegoodbe is also having his first run since the Toowoomba Cup and has won first up.

He showed he still had plenty of zip in his seven-year-old legs with a handy third in a Doomben barrier trial last month.

Zafonic Dancer is resuming after a short winter campaign and is a first-up winner and a winner at 1400m.

Co-trainer Chris Anderson said the three were getting ready for longer races.

"But they are going along nicely and there isn't a lot of depth on Saturday," he said.

"All three will be staying here for our spring and summer staying races and not heading south.

"So we want them to come through Saturday and be ready for a big few months."

The Anderson-Heathcote partnership had a Doomben treble on Wednesday taking them to 36 winners in their three months of operation.

"We have a big team at Eagle Farm on Saturday and we have started the season with at least one winner each Saturday so hopefully we can even do better than that," Anderson said.

"Rob is back from holidays and we hope to really step things up in coming weeks."
