Melbourne Racing Club members have a $250,000 incentive to attend the Caulfield Guineas meeting with one eligible to win the prize in the MRC Members' Everest Sweepstakes.
The winning horse in this year's Group Two Schillaci Stakes at Caulfield on October 12 will be offered the MRC's slot in the $14 million Everest at Randwick seven days later.
Members attending the October 12 Caulfield Guieneas meeting will go in a draw to be selected as one of up to 16 people allocated a runner in the Schillaci Stakes as an honorary 'owner'.
The member allocated the winning horse in the Schillaci will be a guest of the MRC at Caulfield Cup day the following Saturday.
If the Schillaci Stakes winner claims the Everest at Randwick that day, the ticket holder will receive $250,000, or $100,000 if it runs second or $50,000 for third.
"When planning the MRC Everest Series, it was vital to us that we involve our members in the excitement of what is happening both at Caulfield and in Sydney on Saturday 19 October," MRC chief executive Josh Blanksby said.
"While we don't yet know who will take up the MRC slot in The Everest, we do know that it will be a heart stopping race for racing lovers, and even more so now for one of our members."
As part of the MRC's Everest Series, the winners of the Regal Roller Stakes, The Heath and Testa Rossa Stakes all earn ballot exemptions into the Schillaci,.
