Scales Of Justice headed to G1 Makybe Diva

Tuesday 3 September 2019, 6:10pm

Scales Of Justice is set to tackle Mystic Journey in the Makybe Diva Stakes at Flemington after being given the go-ahead to continue his preparation by trainer Lindsey Smith.

After his success in Saturday's Group One Memsie Stakes at Caulfield, there had been speculation Scales Of Justice would return to Perth to be prepared for the summer carnival out of Smith's West Australian stable.

Scales Of Justice claimed his first Group One victory in the Railway Stakes at Ascot in November 2016.

Smith said on Twitter on Tuesday, Scales Of Justice had pulled up well from his Memsie win and his immediate campaign would continue.

"Scales Of Justice has pulled up so well following his Grand Final win in the G1 Memsie Stakes last Saturday, that we have decided to stay in Warrnambool and take it one race at a time," Smith said.

"His next assignment will be the G1 Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m) at Flemington,September 14."

Scales Of Justice has won two of his three starts after Smith set up up a second training base at Warrnambool in the on-course stable formerly occupied by Darren Weir.
