It's up to four female jockeys racing in Gosford on Sunday to give trainers, owners and themselves a chance to put thousands of extra cash in their pockets.
Gosford Race Club is handing over a $6000 bonus to the winner of the Fillies & Mares Handicap (1600m) this Sunday - but only if the winning horse is ridden by a female jockey.
The prize will be split between the jockey and trainer ($1500 each), with the owner to receive $3000.
There are four women riding in a field of nine set to contest the race.
Apprentice Jenny Duggan will be vying for the prize aboard Gibraltar's Gem, with Robyn Freeman-Key on I'm Ready, Kathy O'Hara on Demon Nurse and Alison Threadwell to ride Rampling.
Gosford Race Club chief executive James Heddo said the bonus was their way of recognising the contribution of female jockeys.
"We think that this bonus is an ideal way to do that," Heddo said in a statement.
"Female jockeys are continuing to gain increased recognition in the racing industry, and at the last Gosford meeting on October 4, there were 10 individual female jockeys engaged to ride on the day."
The promotion is part of Ladies Day at the Central Coast course.
