Part owner Bill Andrews had one of the top chances in a Group One race on Saturday but he stayed in Brisbane to see another of his favourite horses Sky Lake win at Doomben.
Sky Lake ($8) made a late dive on the line to beat Time To Play ($11) by a short half-head in the Herron Todd White Handicap (1350m).
Andrews also part owns Scales Of Justice, one of the favourites in the Makybe Diva Stakes at Flemington.
"Obviously to win another Group One would be great but seeing Sky Lake win in the city is also real boost as she has been unlucky," Andrews said.
Sky Lake did her early racing in Victoria but has been an honest performer for trainer Chris Munce in the past 12 months.
Winning jockey Michael Murphy wasn't sure he had won but said Sky Lake had made a big effort right on the line.
