A maiden winner in February, Mizzy has left Rosehill with her second Group win from her past two starts and the promise of more to come.

After claiming the Group Three Toy Show Quality two weeks ago, the Anthony Cummings-trained mare has led all the way in Saturday's Group Two Sheraco Stakes (1200m).

Cummings and jockey Tommy Berry have formed a successful combination with star filly Libertini and also with Mizzy, a $5 chance who held on to beat $3.40 favourite Fasika by a long head in the Sheraco.

Cummings has always been effusive in his praise of Mizzy and raced her at the highest level when she was a three-year-old.

"She's done a fantastic job," he said.

"Fasika was slow out and gave us an opportunity we hadn't expected to get across to the fence.

"The plan was to be quick out and follow that horse over. When she wasn't there it just made life very simple.

"She got over, got an easy lead and today that's been vital for all the winners."

Mizzy's next step has yet to be decided with Cummings suggesting one of the remaining Everest slot holders should take note.

"Whether the wins is good enough to excite anyone about an Everest, God knows but I'm really pleased to see her win and there are certainly more wins and better wins for her.," he said.

Cummings has tried Mizzy up to 1600m in the past and she was a creditable fourth in the Group One Coolmore Legacy on an unsuitable heavy track.

Berry said the tactical advantage gained at the start when Fasika did not begin as well as expected was invaluable.

"She's so tough and honest," he said.

"She took luck out of the equation pretty much two strides after the start.

"When she jumped so well I took her to the front - you don't get sectionals like that very often, it's gold.

"She kicked really well on the bend and was very tough late so she deserves this.

"She's gone close in Group Ones a couple of times. It would be nice to crack it this year."

While Fasika might not have had much luck, fourth-placed Dyslexic had even less with Jay Ford saying had he got clear she would have gone close to winning while Champagne Cuddles ran her usual honest race for third.
