Field of 15 for G1 Moir Stakes at Valley

Wednesday 25 September 2019, 11:03am

Favourite Nature Strip has drawn the inside barrier in a full field of 15 for the $1 million Group One Moir Stakes at Mooney Valley.

The Chris Waller-trained gelding, to be ridden by James McDonald, is one of five Group One winners among the field for Friday night's 1000m weight-for-age sprint along with Booker (barrier four), Sunlight (10), Trekking (11) and The Bostonian (13).

Faatinah, who won the Group Two McEwen Stakes over the course and distance earlier in September, drew the outside barrier for his third crack at a Moir victory.

Along with Stradbroke Handicap winner Trekking, Godolphin trainer James Cummings also has Viridine (barrier five) in the Moir.

Magic Millions Classic winner Exhilarates is not among the acceptances and instead runs in the Group Three Scarborough Stakes (1200m) on the same program.
