Moody and Sargent to train at Randwick

Tuesday 2 July 2013, 5:57pm

Peter Moody and John Sargent have been given boxes at Randwick for their satellite stables in the complex occupied until now by Graeme Rogerson.

The Melbourne-based Moody, who has a satellite stable at Rosehill, will move it to Randwick in the new season while New Zealander Sargent will relocate his Australian arm from Warwick Farm ahead of a permanent move to Sydney.

"The time has come to expand our base in Sydney and I look forward to returning to headquarters where I started out working for TJ Smith," Moody said.

The New Zealand-based Rogerson, the trainer of Cox Plate winner Savabeel and Melbourne Cup winner Efficient, will not renew his Sydney licence for the new season but is still expected to be a regular visitor to Australia.

Adelaide trainer Sam Kavanagh will join the Sydney ranks with a stable at Rosehill.
