Tye Angland joins spring carnival coverage

Tye Angland will join 7 Racing's spring carnival team as a guest expert, working alongside renowned sports commentator Bruce McAvaney.

The announcement was made on Friday with Angland set to make his debut for 7 Racing at Randwick's Epsom Handicap day meeting this weekend.

A former top jockey, Angland became a quadriplegic when he fell from a horse at Sha Tin last year.

He joins some famous racing names as part of 7 Racing's coverage including Kate Waterhouse, daughter of leading trainer Gai, and Emma Freedman, daughter of trainer Lee.

Freedman will also be appearing on the network's racing coverage for the first time on Saturday.
