The Chris Waller-trained Dealmaker has landed a consolation win after the gelding failed to qualify for the Epsom Handicap.

The four-year-old had his 18th start at Randwick on Saturday where he placed first for only the second time - 481 days after his first win.

Starting favourite at $3.50, Dealmaker was originally part of Waller's Epsom Handicap entries.

"At the end of the autumn I said to the owners we'll set this horse for the Epsom,'' Waller said.

"We got the day right but unfortunately he's not in the Epsom."
