Talented South Australian colt Dalasan is favourite for the Caulfield Guineas ahead of the declaration of the field field and barrier draw for the $2 million classic for three-year-olds.
Dalasan will have a new jockey for Saturday's 1600m feature, with champion rider Hugh Bowman booked to partner the colt who is trained by Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas.
Bowman is expected to ride Dalasan in a gallop at Caulfield on Tuesday, with Guineas acceptances taken later in the morning ahead of the barrier draw.
Dalasan began his spring campaign with wins in the Group Three Spring Stakes and Group Two Danehill Stakes before finishing second to Queensland three-year-old Alligator Blood in the Guineas Prelude (1400m) at Caulfield.
Dalasan was at $2.50 on Monday for the Guineas with Alligator Blood on the second line at $5.50.
Premier Sydney trainer Chris Waller has won two of the past four Caulfield Guineas' with The Autumn Sun (2018) and Press Statement (2015) and he has Kubrick high up in markets for Saturday's race at $8.
The Caulfield Guineas is one of four Group One races on Saturday's program along with the Thousand Guineas for three-year-old fillies, the Toorak Handicap and the Caulfield Stakes.
The meeting also features the Group Two Schillaci Stakes (1100m) with the winner offered the Melbourne Racing Club's slot in the $14 million Everest (1200m) at Randwick the following Saturday.
The Schillaci has attracted 17 nominations including Group One winners Nature Strip, Trekking, The Bostonian, Booker and Despatch.
