Smart filly Howwonderfullifeis will get her chance at a Magic Millions start after she maintained her unbeaten run for trainer Tony Gollan.
Howwonderfullifeis ($3.40) won a thrilling duel to beat Ready To Roam ($7) by a short half head with a short neck to The Odyssey ($4.40) in the Clayfield College Foundation Three-Year-Old (1000m).
The filly was trained by Ben Currie as but was sent to Gollan when Currie was disqualified.
Howwonderfullifeis has had two starts for Gollan, winning at the Sunshine Coast and Eagle Farm.
"Funny thing is I think the win at the Sunshine Coast set her up for the win today. When The Odyssey went to her in the straight she found something and I think it was because fo the experience of winning at the Sunshine Coast," Gollan said.
"Not many horses win a maiden and then go on to win at their next start in the city. I think she has a real future."
Gollan said the filly's long-term aim was the Magic Millions carnival in January but she would continue to race in Brisbane three year old company.
Ready To Roam is also trained by Gollan and he pleased the trainer with his first up second.
"He has been going well in track work and I liked the way he hit the line," Gollan said.
Trainer Kelly Schweida said The Odyssey showed he was getting back to near his best and could win soon.
