New Zealand Derby winner Crown Prosecutor has been scratched from the $5 million Caulfield Cup with a leg issue.
The gelding was scratched on Friday afternoon, with first emergency Sound now gaining a start in Saturday's 2400m Group One handicap at Caulfield.
Crown Prosecutor failed a veterinary test on Friday, a day after Racing Victoria ordered he be re-examined when he was found to have lameness in a front leg.
"RV stewards advise that Crown Prosecutor has been withdrawn from tomorrow's Caulfield Cup by trainer Stephen Marsh following veterinary advice," RV said.
The Mike Moroney-trained import Sound, to be ridden by James Winks, was at $101 on Friday.
