A full field of 24 will go to the gates for the Melbourne Cup at Flemington.

The Chris Waller-trained Finche is the early favourite for Tuesday's 3200m-race after being well-backed at the Call of the Card into $8.

Caulfield Cup winner, Japanese horse Mer De Glace is at $9 with former favourite Constantinople at $9.50.

Finche, who finished fourth last year, will be ridden by Kerrin McEvoy who won his third Cup last year on Cross Counter who will carry top weight of 57.5kg and is at $15.
