Field of nine for G1 Darley Sprint Classic

Santa Ana Lane will have eight rivals in his attempt to win the Group One Darley Sprint Classic at Flemington for the second straight year.

Trained by Anthony Freedman, multiple Group One winner Santa Ana Lane has drawn barrier five for Saturday's $2 million weight-for-age sprint over the straight 1200m at Flemington.

Santa Ana Lane is coming off a last-start second to three-year-old Yes Yes Yes in the $14 million Everest in Sydney.

Everest fourth placegetter Nature Strip is also in Saturday's field and has barrier nine while New Zealand sprinter The Bostonian has barrier one.

Three-year-old filly Loving Gaby has barrier three for her attempt to beat the older horses in a Group One weight-for-age sprint for the second time after her last-start victory in the Manikato Stakes at The Valley.
