Prolific country winner Fab's Cowboy gets another chance to break his city duck when he contests the $105,000 Country Cups Championship final at Doomben.
Fab's Cowboy recently won his 35th race, eclipsing the modern day record for wins in Queensland held by 1980s country star, Sleep Walk, with 34.
Passion Moon (114 wins) and Mick's Luck (78 wins) hold the records for most wins on Queensland tracks but both recorded their efforts 50 years ago.
Fab's Cowboy has a 45 per cent win strike rate and has amassed $272,815 prize money.
He has never won in Brisbane with his best effort a second in the corresponding final behind Baker Boy at Doomben last year.
Fab's Cowboy, who has raced on 30 Queensland tracks, has been given top weight of 61kg on Saturday.
Mason's Chance, who won the $100,000 Battle of the Bush restricted to country horses last year, is expected to start close to favourite after recent good form at provincial TAB meetings.
The Country Cups Challenge is run over a series of heats across the state with the top qualifiers making up a field of 16 runners and five emergencies.
The field has already been declared to enable the horses to travel, some for thousands of kilometres, and settle in before the race.
