Jockey Jye McNeil's first metropolitan treble as a senior rider has been soured by a careless riding suspension at The Valley
McNeil was outed for 11 meetings aboard the first leg of his treble, Rubisaki, in the Ladbrokes Cash In Handicap after causing interference near the home turn.
His suspension commences after he rides at the Traralgon Cup meeting on Sunday.
"My last treble was back at Sandown when I was an apprentice," McNeil said.
"It's almost been the perfect day. It's not the best way to finish it, but three winners, I can't be too disappointed."
McNeil's final two winners were for Caulfield trainer Clinton McDonald with Something Silver in the Ace Seating Handicap and Never Again in the Daemco Handicap.
McDonald and McNeil were earlier beaten in a close finish when Causeway Girl finished third Condare Court Tanderra Handicap.
Apprentice Thomas Stockdale has been suspended for eight meetings, also on a careless riding charge, after riding Snogging into fourth place in the Ace Seating Handicap.
