Capacity field for final G1 race in Perth

Monday 2 December 2019, 5:55pm

A field of 16 has been accepted for the final Group One race of the year, the Kingston Town Stakes at Ascot.

Of the 16 horses in Saturday's $1 million, 1800m-race in Perth, four are trained in the eastern states.

Tally and Best Of Days represent Godolphin and trainer James Cummings while Gailo Chop and Pacodali run for Warrnambool trainers Matthew Williams and Lindsey Smith respectively.

Best Of Days is the most favoured of the quartet at $9.50 ahead of Pacodali at $12, Tally ($15) and Gailo Chop ($18).

But three-year-old filly Tuscan Queen is favoured by bookmakers to give connections of last year's winner Arcadia Queen back-to-back victories.

Tuscan Queen is owned by Perth businessman Bob Peters and trained by Grant and Alana Williams who will also be represented by Regal Power and Superstorm in Saturday's race.

Last year's winning jockey Willie Pike rides Tuscan Queen, currently at $3.60 following her win in the Champion Fillies Stakes (1600m) on November 16 at her fourth race start.

Barriers will be drawn on Tuesday.
