Munce rides four winners at Eagle Farm

There was no holiday hangover for Chris Munce at Eagle Farm on Wednesday.

On his first day of riding after returning from a two weeks family holiday in the United States, taking in the sights of Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon and New York, Munce rode four winners at Eagle Farm.

One of his winners, Putyourfaithinme is being aimed at a Cups campaign in New Zealand later this year.

"Races like the Waikato and Wellington Cups back home during the late spring and summer would be something to aim at," trainer Paul Jenkins said.

"I've always had a good opinion of her. Last year I was aiming her at The Roses and Queensland Oaks but she didn't quite measure up."

Putyourfaithinme, the $2.50 favourite, was having her second start from a spell when she won the Ambassador Travel Handicap (1600m).

Jenkins admitted he wasn't sure if the mare would handle the heavy track.

"She doesn't like that ground much but she was good enough to win and she's just starting to come of age," he said.

Munce led all the way aboard Putyourfaithinme and adopted similar tactics aboard earlier winners Prussian Heart ($3.80) and Patent Pending ($4).

Prussian Heart drifted out under pressure in the straight but Munce gave trainer Michael Nolan a glowing post-race assessment.

"He's not just a speed horse. He'll be able to come from off the pace when he learns a bit more about things but he's got loads of ability," he said.

Nolan said Prussian Heart was on a learning curve and expects the colt can measure up to better company.

Munce had to use all his vigour to lift Lock's Legend ($1.40) to win the Mount Franklin Handicap (1200m) by a short half-head but said the gelding would be better suited when he steps up in distance.

Trainer Bryan Guy's delight turned to disappointment when Nuptse bled for the first time and was banned from racing for three months after she won the LED Super Screens Handicap.
