Premier trainer Tony Gollan's policy of placing his horses where they can win has continued to reap rewards, with Sizzling Power scoring at Beaudesert.
The filly was sent out at Winx-style odds of $1.12 on Wednesday on the strength of her form in a far stronger city class.
She is a half-sister to stakes winner Snitzkraft, being out of the former smart Melbourne mare Power O'Raylee.
Jockey Jake Bayliss had a strong hold on Sizzling Power to the turn, who then shot away to win by two lengths in the Maiden Handicap (1300m).
The meeting was transferred from Ipswich, which is under repair, and was ignored by some of the bigger stables.
But not Gollan, who has had winners on 13 different Queensland tracks in 2019.
"We sent two horses to Kilcoy last weekend and they both won. You have to find the right races for them, no matter where they are," he said.
Trainer Robert Heathcote continued his amazing run with the offspring of sire Mossman when Prinny's Success ($3.90) got up in the last stride to win a maiden over 1650m.
Heathcote has lost count of the winners he has trained by Mossman, who are headed by his champion Buffering and multiple stakes winner Hopfgarten.
But some estimates put the number about 100.
"Rob sure knows what it takes to win with a Mossman," stable foreman Mel Sharpe said.
