The latest member of one of Australasia's most star-studded thoroughbred dynasties makes a highly anticipated debut at Ruakaka on Saturday.
All Decked Out, a colt from a family containing an entire cast of champions including Octagonal and his son Lonhro, will sneak in his debut run just before the season closes.
Bred and owned by The Oaks Stud, the son of Darci Brahma is out of the mare Diamond Deck, a three-quarter sister to the Australian Horse of the Year Lonhro and his brother, the multiple Group One winner Niello.
Trainer Jason Bridgman describes All Decked Out as "a work in progress" who has had almost his entire two-year-old season to develop.
"As with any horse with a pedigree like his you would like to think he will keep developing," Bridgman said.
"He's still a work in progress and this will be a starting point for him.
All Decked Out has shown ability in three trials in which he wasn't asked to do anything special.
"He was there to be educated ... once the penny drops and he's stepped up over further he will continue to go on with it," Bridgman said.
Diamond Deck is by Octagonal from Miss Trump, who is out Shadea, the mother of Lonhro and Niello.
She had only eight starts, her best efforts her victory in the Group Three Highview Stakes in New Zealand and Group Two placings in the Queensland Sires' Produce Stakes and Champagne Classic.
