The riding record of Craig Williams saved him from a lengthier suspension on a careless riding charge at Flemington.
Williams rode Bold Star to victory in the Festive Season Sprint on Saturday but was hit with a careless riding charge after bumping the Michael Poy ridden Propelle when pushing out for a run passing the 400m mark.
The champion jockey pleaded guilty to the charge which Racing Victoria stewards described as being a mid-range offence.
Williams was rubbed out at The Valley on November 22, which was his first suspension in almost 12 months.
He will start his suspension after riding at The Valley next Saturday and can return for the Sandown twilight meeting on January 8 and in time for the Magic Millions meeting at the Gold Coast on January 11.
Apprentice Thomas Stockdale was suspended for eight meetings for careless riding aboard third-placed Can't Be Done in the Candy Cane Lane Plate.
Brian Park had nine meetings added to a previous suspension, again for careless riding, aboard La Zola in the Christmas Race Day Trophy.
