Track specialist Tarzan will join some weight-carrying stars if he can again win at the Sunshine Coast.
Tarzan is a track and distance specialist having won nine times and been placed five from 15 runs over the Sunshine Coast 1000m.
He has earned his top weight of 65kg on Thursday with a rating of 104 which is 14 higher than main rival Jadentom.
Trainer Stuart Kendrick has booked leading apprentice Baylee Nothdurft whose claim reduces the weight to 53.5kg.
"We have booked Baylee Nothdurft and because it is a metropolitan class meeting he can still claim 1.5kg," Kendrick said.
"Baylee is second in the metropolitan premiership at the moment so it is like using a senior rider with a claim."
Tarzan has been scratched a couple of times recently when Kendrick was not totally satisfied with him but the trainer says all is well ahead of Thursday.
"He wouldn't be running if we weren't happy," he said.
Kendrick sees the main danger as Jadentom who has been placed in stakes class at her past two starts.
Oakleigh Plate winner Swiss Ace holds the weight carrying record for a win at the Sunshine Coast after he carried 68kg for a dead-heat win in a Sunday open handicap in 2009.
Gallant Ruler who won 24 races at the Sunshine Coast carried up to 64kg in his wins.
In the past 50 years the most weight carried to victory in a metropolitan standard race is Charlton Boy who carried 65.5 kg to win a Doomben Flying in 1975.
Chief De Beers won a Doomben Flying handicap with 64.5 kg in 1996.
The post-war grass-track record for a metropolitan race is held jointly by Eye Liner and Maybe Lad who carried 69kg to win two-year-old handicaps in 1965.
