Toowoomba trainer Kevin Kemp has confirmed his reputation for supporting young jockeys by sticking with apprentice Madeline Wishart on improving staying mare In Your Element.

Wishart has ridden In Your Element at her past five starts for four minor placings including two in Eagle Farm middle distance races.

Her only ride at Eagle Farm on Saturday is on In Your Element in the Cascade Handicap (2200m).

Kemp said both In Your Element and Wishart deserved a city win.

"Maddy has done the right thing by us so we do the right thing by her," Kemp said.

"A couple of runs back at Eagle Farm she got In Your Element into third when the mare was $81. A few people commented to me it was the ride of the day.

"With Maddy's three-kilo claim In Your Element has only 51kg on Saturday so they get their chance."

Wishart has ridden 38 winners on provincial and country tracks.
