Plutocrat gives sire Rich Enuff first win

Former smart stakes performer Rich Enuff got his first winner as a sire when promising Plutocrat won on debut at Doomben.

Rich Enuff won the Caulfield Guineas Prelude and was second to Shooting To Win in the 2014 Caulfield Guineas when trained by Ken Keys.

After a short stint with the Peter and Paul Snowden partnership, Rich Enuff was retired to stud.

He stood his first season at Glenlogan Park, near Beaudesert, in conjunction with Woodside Stud in Victoria.

When Glenlogan elected to no longer retain sires, Rich Enuff went back to Woodside Park where he now stands.

Glenlogan Park kept an interest in some of his offspring including Plutocrat who studmaster John Haesler sent to trainer Chris Anderson.

Plutocrat ($3.70) came from an outside barrier to win a two-year-old race over 1110m.

"It is great Plutocrat is Rich Enuff's first winner and I am really happy for Woodside and Glenlogan," Anderson said.

"Plutocrat might be something special as not many horses win from outside barriers from that start."

Plutocrat is a QTIS horse and Anderson has the option to chase the $500,000 Two-Year-Old The Jewel at the Gold Coast on March 14.

Former trainer Caitlin Lavin was back in the winner's circle as an owner-breeder when Parangas ($2.30) broke her maiden status.

Lavin was a successful Sunshine Coast-based trainer before leaving training to run her family business.

She sent her horses to trainer Steve O'Dea where her boyfriend Matt Hoysted is stable foreman.

"Caitlin and her family are still very interested in racing and she bred Parangas," Hoysted said.
