Bull Point has reaffirmed he will be a three-year-old to watch in the new season with victory at Rosehill in a race that ended in disaster for the third placegetter.
Glyn Schofield weighed in light on Wouldn't it Be Nice who was disqualified with the jockey unable to offer any explanation for the discrepancy.
Schofield weighed out at 59.1kg but came back at 58.3kg, outside the 0.5kg allowable differential.
Stewards said under the rules they had no option but to disqualify Wouldn't It be Nice.
There were no problems for Bull Point who made much easier work of the 1200m handicap for two-year-olds than he did last time out when second to Eurozone two weeks ago.
Trainer Gai Waterhouse said the colt, owned by Coolmore, would be aimed towards the race they sponsor for three-year-olds, the Group One Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) in November.
"He won't be going to the Golden Rose," Waterhouse said.
"He will be kept to the sprint races.
"I thought he was very impressive today and was in second gear."
Bull Point, the $1.70 favourite, strode to the front in the straight to put three lengths on Mr Entertainer ($31) with Killcareless ($9) promoted to third.
Bull Point was ridden by Nash Rawiller who claimed the next three races on the program to bridge the gap between him and Hugh Bowman to 1-1/2 in the race for the Sydney jockeys' premiership.
